FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Congratulations to our staff and students for their focus on improving our target area of writing over the last term. We had a visit from the School Improvement Unit with very positive feedback around the staff commitment to the teaching of writing and the focus on improving student outcomes in their class. Students have been developing and working on their writing goals.
Interschool Sport
There were many fantastic performances and results from our wonderful students across all sports being: Rugby League, Oz tag, Netball and Soccer for our students in Years 4-7. It was really encouraging to hear of student growth and development in their chosen sports. Importantly – their improvement of communication and teamwork skills over the season was positive.
A massive thank you to our amazing staff who took the time to coach, referee and supervise our student throughout the season.
Unfortunately, a decision has been made at a district level that we will not be holding a summer ISS this year but will be back next year eager and ready to go for a full year of competition.
A special mention to our Soccer Boys 6B side who lost 1 game all season and won their Grand Final.
Well done Worongary Students on another fantastic year of Sports!

School Support Staff
Thank you to our amazing support staff (Administration Officers, Business Managers, IT Officers & School Officers) who always go above and beyond to support students and staff in our school.
Have a safe and happy break over the next two weeks!
Have a great week ahead!

PREP 2023

One of the aspects of Worongary State School that we are praised for within the wider community are the values and positive behaviours that we develop in our students. This includes instilling a sense of pride in our school. One simple example of this is the correct wearing of our school uniform. We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank our school community for your commitment to the school uniform policy that maintains our students’ positive sense of belonging. We would like to remind everyone that our uniform option for the cooler months is the wearing of the Worongary State School jacket or pullover (alternative is a plain maroon pullover). School Uniform items are available for purchase from the school uniform shop on a Thursday 8am – 9:30am or through the QKR app.

AND THAT’S A WRAP!
And just like that, Term 3 is nearly complete!
All of our students have been working very hard completing assessment tasks. Congratulations on your efforts. If your result was not quite what you were hoping for, remember that this is just one point in time and there will be more opportunities to improve and grow in Term 4. Ask your Instrumental Music Teacher or Classroom Music Teacher ways to improve your practise and if you do not understand always ask for clarification.

SPEAKING OUT 2022
Both senior and junior schools will compete in our annual Speaking Out competition. Year 3-6 students have started looking at topics and beginning the process. One finalist will be chosen from each class to compete in the Finals in week 3 (Term 4) with the overall year 4/5/6 Winners representing the school at the Nerang alliance finals on October 26th at Nerang High school.
This is a terrific initiative that our students have been involved in for over 15 years. It develops the skills of some of our talented presenters and gives all students the opportunity to practice the important skill of public speaking.
