FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome back from your Easter break. The term started off with several whole school events to engage our school community.
Cross Country
The day was set with perfect conditions for the 2023 Cross Country. This was the first event of the year for students to cheer on their fellow house mates. The efforts of students were exceptional with mixed faces of emotions from the laughter as they walked up the hills to the determination of a sprinting finish.
Congratulations to all students who attended and gave their best effort on the day. Thank you to the families who attended and cheered on their children. Thank you to the staff that assisted in setting up and packing away. Finally, thank you to Mrs Donovan on her first cross country as PE teacher at Worongary.
Worongary ANZAC Service
The whole school ANZAC Service took place in the undercover area on Monday. This was a beautiful sight to see with the whole school together, for the first time in many years, with Nea Storlan attending from Nerang RSL sub branch as our keynote speaker.

The choir led the New Zealand and Australian National anthems and the sang the spirit of ANZACs. The acoustics of the space was amazing. Thank you to Miss Lewis for coming in on your day off to support the choir practising for the service.

Well done to all students, class representatives, student leaders who lead the service and all staff present.
Nerang ANZAC Day Service
The service brought back memories of the 2022 service with periodic rain during the march and service. Again, the students were exceptional during the service. Thank you to Nerang RSL subbranch for a lovely service and thank you to all the students and families who attended.
Reminder that Labour Day Public Holiday is Monday 1 May 2023 and the school will not be open.
Have a lovely long weekend!
Regards,
Adam
